One Village Coffee Villager Review

How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today, we’re diving into a One Village Coffee Villager review, checking out one of my all-time favorite blends.

Villager has been my go-to daily coffee for years, offering a balanced profile with fruity brightness and rich sweetness, but does it truly stand out? I brewed it using a French Press and pour-over to rate the aroma, body, flavor, and overall drinkability so you can decide if it deserves a spot in your rotation.

The Roaster

One Village Coffee is a Pennsylvania-based roaster focused on ethically sourced beans and community-driven impact. They emphasize sustainability and building relationships with coffee farmers while roasting high-quality coffees for everyday drinkers. Their mission centers around using coffee as a way to bring people together while supporting the communities that produce it.

Personally, this coffee is a bit special to me. My wife first picked up Villager for me as a Christmas gift a few years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Safe to say she absolutely nailed that one. Villager sparked my passion for coffee and is part of the reason Coasters & Coffee exists today! So let’s check out what makes this coffee so great!

When rating coffee, I follow the same brewing method each time to keep things consistent. Find out how I prepare the coffee I rate here.

One Village Coffee Villager review:

Characteristics and Flavor Profile

Grinding Villager releases a bright aroma with hints of fruit and subtle sweetness that immediately make you want to brew a cup.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, Villager remains one of my favorite coffees. The balance between acidity and sweetness makes for a consistently enjoyable cup, while the complexity of the flavor profile keeps things interesting.

  • French Press: A well-balanced, flavorful cup with a medium body and a great mix of fruit and chocolate notes. Smooth and complex enough to keep things interesting.
  • Pour-over: Slightly more tart while still maintaining a balanced sweetness throughout the cup, I had hoped the citrus would pop slightly more, but still a smooth and delicious brew.
  • Preferred brew method: French Press

Simply put, this is an excellent coffee regardless of brew method, the French Press brought out more of the sweetness while my Chemex let the citrus pop. I slightly preferred the French Press as the pour-over had good, but not great citrusy notes. This is a delicious coffee and I think most coffee enthusiasts would enjoy it. The fruitiness, especially the tart notes, may not appeal to a more casual coffee drinker.

Where to Purchase

You can pick up a bag of Villager directly from the One Village website. It is also available in some grocery stores, often with slightly better pricing. If you happen to see this at your local store, do yourself a favor and grab a bag, or five. You won’t regret it.

Conclusion – One Village Coffee Villager

Villager is everything I look for in a daily coffee: smooth, flavorful, and consistently excellent. The combination of bright fruit notes, smooth chocolate, and a sweet finish creates a cup that never gets boring.

If you enjoy coffees with a balance of acidity and sweetness and a layered flavor profile, this is absolutely one worth trying.
