How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today we are going to be talking about beans from one of my favorite local roasters. In my French Press today I have One Village’s Villager blend.
I have been drinking Villager as my go to coffee for a couple of years now. My terrific wife got it for me as a Christmas present and I have been hooked ever since. Safe to say she has impeccable taste when it comes to picking coffee.
When rating coffee I follow the same method of brewing each time. Find out about how I brew the coffee I rate here.
One Village Villager review:
Villager presents with a well balanced medium body. This is one thing that sets Villager a part from other light roasts, as it boasts a bit more body than most others I’ve had. There is a great balance between acidity and sweetness that makes every sip a wonderful experience.
The coffee begins with tart cherry notes up front. These notes get stronger before giving way to a delicious and mildly sweet dark chocolatey middle. Villager has a strong finish with slight honey-like sweetness that ends with notes of caramel. Just thinking about each sip makes me want to brew some more. The flavor notes work so well together, it is a true masterpiece of a cup of coffee.
Overall, Villager remains one of, if not my favorite coffees I’ve had. The balance of acidity and sweetness along with the diverse yet cohesive tasting notes make for a consistently delicious cup of coffee every time. It is a relatively complex cup of coffee, so even though it is smooth and easy to drink there is quite a bit going on flavor wise. As a coffee fanatic I love this about it, however people who prefer a more basic cup of coffee may not enjoy it as much.
You can pick up a bag of Villager from the One Village website. Though grocery stores tend to have slightly better prices. If you see this at your local store seriously do yourself a favor and get a bag or 5. You won’t regret it.
