How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! After having some fun with canned coffees I have dusted off the French press and it’s time to get back to the grind, of whole bean coffee that is! In my French Press today I have Purity Coffee’s Flow blend.
Purity Coffee is known for producing some of the cleanest coffee on the market today. Their products are certified free of pesticides, mold, mycotoxins, and other contaminants. On top of this, they’re known for their sustainable sourcing and eco friendly practices. This is all great, but we also need the coffee to taste good. Will it be as delicious as it is guilt free? Let’s find out!
When rating coffee I follow the same method of brewing each time. Find out about how I brew the coffee I rate here.
Purity Coffee Flow Review:
Purity Coffee’s Flow blend has a medium-full body. It is not quite a full bodied roast, but still a bit heavier than a regular medium roast. This coffee also had a very distinct and noticeable aroma of warm apple. These notes were not as prominent in the flavor of the coffee.
The coffee begins very forward, with slightly tart green apple notes. I was hoping these notes would get stronger, as it was a very nice and pleasant twist, but that was not the case. The tartness faded into a rich dark chocolatey middle with a nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. The dark chocolatey bitterness fades and the coffee finishes with sweet chocolatey notes that give way to a roasty, almost nutty flavor.
Overall, I found this to be a pretty good cup of coffee. The warm apple aroma left me slightly disappointed in the flavor as I had hoped the flavor would persist. That being said it was still a good cup of coffee and I liked the flavor profile. Despite the tart tasting notes the coffee was not overly acidic and very smooth. The tasting notes are not overly complex and this, coupled with it being an easy drink, would appeal to most coffee drinkers. One down side to Purity’s coffee is the price, at about $26 for a 12 oz bag it is certainly on the expensive side.
If you like what you hear and want to try one of the cleanest and healthiest coffees on the market you can pick up a bag from the Purity Coffee website or on Amazon.
