Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Mocha Nitro Cold Brew Review

Chocolatey coffee goodness?

How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today I have another canned nitro cold brew review for you. This one is the start of something a little different, as I step away from my usual black coffee and review some flavored drinks. Today in my glass I have a can of Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Mocha Nitro Cold Brew.

As I mentioned in my previous review Rise Brewing Company is a brand that exclusively offers prepackaged coffee in cans. Rise Coffee is also frequently included as part of the deals offered on Ibotta. If you are not familiar with Ibotta it’s essentially a coupon app where you pick items before a shopping trip and then get reimbursed for them after proving you purchased them. It’s a great app and if you aren’t using it I highly recommend it. Sign up using this referral link and you’ll get a $5 bonus after you submit your first receipt!

Ok, taking my marketing hat off and putting my coffee hat back on, one thing that stands out to me when comparing Rise to other canned nitro cold brews is the nitrogen content. If you’ve read my High Brew Nitro Cold Brew review you’ll know that some companies take a unique approach to nitro cold brew. Rise does not, similar to a can of soda when you open the can the nitrogen reaction occurs. I am not sure how they do it, but Rise has the best nitrogen reaction of any canned coffee I’ve tried. When you open the can there is a distinct pop and you hear the coffee react. The difference can also be see in the size of the nitrogen head. The difference can also be see in the size of the nitrogen head.

Rise does a fantastic job with the nitrogen in their coffee

Will this replace your daily coffee shop latte? Let’s find out!

Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Mocha Nitro Cold Brew review:

Rise’s Oat Milk Mocha Nitro Cold Brew is light bodied, but still has a nice creaminess from the nitro. Even with the lighter colored coffee from the oat milk the nitro head is easily noticeable. The coffee contains a lot of milk which certainly takes away from the coffee body. The black nitro cold brew (read my review of that here) had much more body, which isn’t unexpected.

The flavor profile of this coffee was very simple, the front was very sweet and chocolatey. The oat milk and mocha completely masks any coffee flavor. The sweetness fades slightly in the middle, but the flavor remains just milk chocolatey. The finish is more of the same, rich chocolatey flavor. While the drink is not bad, I was disappointed at the lack of coffee flavor. This was more like a can of caffeinated chocolate milk than the quality coffee I’ve come to expect from Rise.

Overall, this would be a perfect option for a chocolate or mocha lover who is looking for a convenient caffeine boost. It is a good and lower cost alternative to stopping at your regular coffee shop for a mocha. I do not think this would appeal to coffee drinkers who are looking for a coffee forward drink. There is not much here from a coffee perspective, but it could be decent change of pace if you want to experiment with a flavored drink. To be fair I knew what I was getting into so I did not expect much coffee taste though it is a shame because Rise cold brew is delicious.

Rise Brewing Company’s Black Nitro Cold Brew can be found on the Rise website, Amazon, Walmart, and many other online retailers. You can likely find it in your local grocery store as well. Check out the Rise website for their full line of offerings, and stay tuned as we have more reviews to come!
