How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today I have another coffee review from the awesome folks over at B-Cups Coffee. While I originally met B-Cups at the Pennsylvania Chocolate and Coffee Festival (read my review of the event here), they generously sent me one of each of their coffees. This week I will be reviewing another one of those coffees, in my French Press I have B-Cups Coffee’s French Vanilla coffee.
This will be my second flavored coffee review, both from B-Cups Coffee. If you like flavored coffee check out my review of B-Cups Coffee’s Island Roast if you have not already. I’ve included B-Cups story in my other reviews, so I will keep it brief but feel it’s worth continuing to share. B-Cups Coffee was started in honor of the co-founder’s aunt, who battled breast cancer for a long time before tragically passing away. They donate 5% of their proceeds to the Susan G. Komen foundation in honor of her. Though I am not a huge flavored coffee drinker, B-Cups Island Roast was a good coffee and so I have some high expectations of their French Vanilla. Let’s find out if it lives up to this standard!
When rating coffee I follow the same method of brewing each time. Find out about how I brew the coffee I rate here.
B-Cups Coffee French Vanilla coffee review:
It should come as no surprise that this coffee has a rich vanilla nose, given that it is a French vanilla flavored coffee. The notes are sweet and warm. The coffee has a light body and is smooth, with just a touch of acidity.
B-Cups French Vanilla starts with surprisingly subtle vanilla notes, it is sweet but not over powering and you get a nice hint of toastiness. The sweetness grows into a rich vanilla middle that still leaves plenty of room for the coffee. The coffee has a warm, semisweet finish, which rounds out the coffee very well. Notably there was also no unpleasant aftertaste, which most flavored coffees have. While I am not usually a flavored coffee drinker, B-Cups does a really great job with theirs.
Overall, this is a good and smooth coffee. For a flavored coffee it does not have an extremely strong taste, which I much prefer. For those looking for a bold and sweet flavor, this might be a bit too subtle, however I would certainly recommend trying it as it is a good quality coffee. It also could be a good way to move from flavored offerings into traditional coffees.
If you would like to try this coffee for yourself you can get it and the rest of B-Cups full lineup of coffee on their website. I still have quite a few B-Cups blends to get through, so there will be more great content to come. In the mean time, if you like what you read and want to support some awesome people and a worthwhile cause you can pick up a few bags from the B-Cups Coffee Website or in select retail stores!
