The nitro head on Rise coffee never fails to impress me!

How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today I have another canned nitro cold brew review for you. Keeping with the theme of venturing outside of my usual coffee habits, I have another flavored coffee review for you. Today in my glass I have a can of Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Vanilla Latte Nitro Cold Brew.

As I mentioned in my previous reviews, Rise Brewing Company is a brand that exclusively offers prepackaged coffee in cans. Rise Coffee is also frequently included as part of the deals offered on Ibotta. If you are not familiar with Ibotta it’s essentially a coupon app where you pick items before a shopping trip and then get reimbursed for them after proving you purchased them. It’s a great app and if you aren’t using it I highly recommend it. Sign up using this referral link and you’ll get a $5 bonus after you submit your first receipt!

If you’ve read my High Brew Nitro Cold Brew review you’ll know that some companies take a unique approach to nitro cold brew. Rise does not, similar to a can of soda when you open the can the nitrogen reaction occurs. I am not sure how they do it, but Rise has the best nitrogen reaction of any canned coffee I’ve tried. When you open the can there is a distinct pop and you hear the coffee react. The difference can also be see in the size of the nitrogen head. Will the Oat Milk Vanilla Latte provide more coffee flavor than the Mocha Nitro Cold Brew? There’s only one way to find out!

Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Vanilla Latte Nitro Cold Brew review:

Rise’s Oat Milk Vanilla Latte Nitro Cold Brew is light bodied, and despite the nitro head I did not notice as much creaminess in this one. Even with the lighter colored coffee from the oat milk the nitro head is easily noticeable. The coffee contains a lot of milk which certainly takes away from the coffee body. The black nitro cold brew (read my review here) had much more body, which isn’t unexpected as there was not milk diluting it.

Similar to the Rise Mocha this was a very sweet drink. The front has a lot of sweetness and the vanilla and oat milk stand out the most. The sweetness fades slightly in the middle and the vanilla tasting notes become the focus. The finish has a slight coffee taste, as you get some faint roasty notes, but these are still over powered by the vanilla.

Overall, this tasted a bit more like a coffee than the mocha, but the vanilla still overpowered the coffee severely. This drink is in a similar category to the Rise Mocha in that I think it would be a good option for someone looking for a convenient caffeine boost that doesn’t want to taste coffee. It is a good and lower price alternative to stopping at your regular coffee shop for a vanilla latte. While again I was a little disappointed to not get to taste more of that delicious Rise cold brew, it was nice to have a little bit of the coffee shine through at the end with this one.

Rise Brewing Company’s Black Nitro Cold Brew can be found on the Rise website, Amazon, and many other online retailers. You can likely find it in your local grocery store as well. Check out the Rise website for their full line of offerings, and stay tuned as we have more reviews to come!
