How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today I have another coffee soda review for you. As I mentioned in my Slingshot Coffee Dark Cherry Cola coffee review, my local grocery store had these on clearance for half off so I had to grab one of each. Today I will be reviewing Slingshot Coffee’s Citrus Vanilla Coffee Soda. Please note that as of May 2025 the coffee sodas were no longer available on the Slingshot Coffee website.
As discussed in my last review, Slingshot Coffee was founded with the intention of pushing limits and creating unique coffee drinks. These coffee sodas are certainly unique! When I made the purchase, the Citrus Vanilla Cream Coffee Soda was the flavor I was most excited to try. On my wife and I’s honeymoon the resort we stayed at offered a cold brew with fresh orange juice, club soda, and a touch of vanilla. Since trying that a few years ago I have been searching for a similar drink, as it was delicious and wonderfully refreshing. I had hoped that Slingshot Coffee might have ended my search. Did they? Let’s find out!
Slingshot Coffee Citrus Vanilla Cream Soda coffee review:
When I first poured this I was delighted by the strong citrus notes, especially the orange, and the hint of vanilla. The combination was enticing and the drink was off to a great start! Similar to the cherry cola, this one also has a light body and drinks like a soda more than a coffee.
The front has bright citrusy orange notes, which were quite tart. Sweet vanilla notes begin to come forward in the middle and tried to give some balance to the tart citrus, but the flavor was still not well balanced. The drink finishes very tart. The vanilla notes were short lived and rather quickly gave way to the orange notes. Unfortunately creating a similar experience to the other coffee soda I tried.
Overall this was another drink I had a hard time finishing. Unfortunately it came nowhere close to satisfying that craving I’ve had for a citrusy cold brew. While I will certainly try the other coffee sodas that Slingshot Coffee offers my expectations of these coffee sodas are quite low. That being said, I intend to try some of Slingshot’s whole bean blends as well as their traditional canned coffees.
