How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today I will be doing a review for a coffee I honestly thought I posted months ago. My New Years resolution is to get it together over here I promise! Also to take more photos at amusement parks, but that isn’t relevant today. Anyways, all joking aside, this week’s review is another offering from the folks over at B-Cups Coffee.
Last week I talked about B-Cups Pink Ribbon Blend (read my review here) and included the links to my other B-Cups Review, but if you have not read them before I will link those reviews below for your reading pleasure. For those of you who have you will know that B-Cups is a mission driven coffee brand that donates 5% of every purchase to the Susan G. Komen foundation. You can find out about the B-Cups mission here.
B-Cups is a great group of people with a terrific mission, and today we will find out if their Mediterranean Roast is as good as the people who make it. Today in my French Press I have B-Cups Coffee’s Mediterranean Roast coffee.
When rating coffee I follow the same method of brewing each time. Find out about how I prepare the coffee I rate here.
B-Cups Coffee Mediterranean Roast Review:
The Mediterranean Roast has a subtly sweet aroma, with hints of brown sugar. This is a fuller bodied coffee with a good weight to it. The cup starts smooth with a subtle maple syrup-like sweetness. It shares similar darker sugary notes to those found in the nose, but there is a touch of herb-like greenness. The sweetness picks up in the middle and the herb notes give way to a caramelized sweetness. The experience ends with that caramelized sweetness giving way to a more roasty and malty finish.
Overall I found this to be a decent cup of coffee, it was smooth with minimal acidity. The flavor profile was good, with a focus on sweetness, but the flavors were relatively muted. For coffee drinkers looking for bold flavors this may not appeal to you, but for the average coffee drinker who is looking for a simple cup this would certainly work.
You can find B-Cups Mediterranean Roast on the B-Cups website along with their other coffee blends. If you are in the south eastern Pennsylvania region you may also find their coffees in your local grocery store, but their distribution in this regard is limited.
