How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing! Today we will be going back to a coffee roaster you will likely be very familiar with by now. In my French Press today I have B-Cups Coffee’s Blissful Blend.
This will be my sixth review of B-Cups blends, which means there is just one more left after this. All of my other B-Cups review will be linked on the bottom of this post, so check them out to learn more about B-Cups and their awesome mission. You can also read more about what drives them here. I have sampled a lot of B-Cups coffee, so let’s see where the Blissful Blend stacks up with their other blends.
When rating coffee I follow the same method of brewing each time. Find out about how I prepare the coffee I rate here.
B-Cups Coffee Blissful Blend Coffee review:
When brewing Blissful Blend, I really enjoyed the sweet caramel aroma. It was strong enough to be noticed even before pouring the coffee into my cup. The coffee had a medium body with a relatively average amount of weight.
The coffee starts with decent notes of hazelnut, they are strong enough to be noticeable but did not overpower the taste of the coffee. There was a noticeable bitterness in the front. The hazelnut gives way to a sharp red wine middle with a slightly fruit tartness and good tannins. It was noticeably less bitter in the middle. The wine notes continue into the finish, but some of that bitterness from the start also returns.
Overall this was a decent cup of coffee, but the bitterness certainly took away from a flavor profile I would have otherwise really enjoyed. I was surprised by the bitterness in this and actually brewed it a few more times before writing this review because it was a much different experience from the usual B-Cups blends I have had. At $14.99 for 12 ounces (about $19.99 per pound) Blissful Blend is a decent value, though typically this price point aligns more with organic coffees.
You can find B-Cups Blissful Blend on the B-Cups website along with their other coffee blends. If you are in the south eastern Pennsylvania region you may also find their coffees in your local grocery store, but their distribution in this regard is limited.
