The final Rise cold brew review has finally arrived!

How’s it going? Hope the coffee is flowing? This week we are going back to canned cold brews! You may remember over the summer I did a series of reviews for Rise Brewing Company’s nitro cold brews. Well I, or more accurately my wife finally, was able to track down the last kind which has eluded me for months. Today in my glass I have a can of Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Salted Caramel Cold Brew.

Up until now I have only been able to find Rise’s black, mocha, vanilla latte, and London Fog cold brews (click each variety to read my review). Then suddenly in my fridge appears about four cans of the salted caramel! As you read the linked reviews above you’ll notice that I found these cold brews to be hit or miss. Will the salted caramel be a hit or a miss? Let’s find out!

Rise Brewing Company Oat Milk Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew Review:

Rise’s Salted Caramel Cold Brew has a sweet caramel nose, with a slight boozy-like bitterness. It has a medium-light body, just a bit heavier than the other oat milk cold brews I sampled, and a decent frothy mouth feel.

The coffee starts with a mildly sweet caramel front, it was a bit different than the other flavored cold brews, as it was more balanced and the caramel and milk did not over power the coffee flavor. This balance remains in the middle, despite the caramel getting slightly stronger, there was plenty of coffee flavor showing through. The finish starts with a bold caramel flavor which abruptly fades and gives way to roasty notes with just a hint of sweetness.

Overall this was my favorite of the flavored Rise cold brews. My first choice would still be the black nitro cold brew, as I think Rise’s cold brew is outstanding. Surprisingly, I liked this one a good bit more than even the London Fog, which was far and away my favorite of the flavored drinks. It was very well balanced, the caramel notes gave it a nice flavor but did not weaken or drown out the coffee. I was hoping for a bit more saltiness in the flavor profile due to the name. I would consider this more like a caramel macchiato than a salted caramel latte.

You can find this, and the rest of Rise’s offerings on their website. You can also find the Salted Caramel Cold Brew on Amazon, Walmart, and if you are a Thrive member (find out more and read a review of their coffee here) you can currently get the best deal there, at $2.99 a can.
